Weekend-ing

Good Morning!
We had a nice relaxing weekend at home. I was nervous about the time change with baby girl but she did just fine! We did have to put a sheet over her window because it was still pretty bright in her room when we were putting her to bed. We might need to invest in some blinds or black out curtains!

Saturday we met the handsome Damon! Our friends had him 3 weeks ago and he's sooo gorgeous! I forgot how it felt to hold a baby this way! I've been putting Em on my hip for so long that I forgot how precious they are in your arms!

Baby Girl was looking pretty cute for church so I decided to snap a few pics!

We also had another first! We put Em in a high chair at a restaurant! It was awesome not having to eat really quick while Eric held her or vise versa! She sat completely content while we ate! I might need to put a bow on this girl once in a while so people know she's a girl! She's growing so fast if she's not in pj's she's in a plain onesie. I need to get better at accessorizing her!

Seriously obsessed with Ed Sheeran's - Shape of You! I always stop what I'm doing and sing and dance!

Also we bought Baby Girls next car seat! We bought the Graco Extend2Fit 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat. I figure we could give it a try when the time comes and if we don't like it we can exchange it.

Happy Monday!

Sister Trip to Los Angeles!!!

Good Morning!
My sister and I are going to take a trip to LA and I am soo excited! We have everything planned out pretty much and I am anxious to feel the sunshine on my face! I've bought a few new items for our trip that I am super excited to wear!

And of course my sister and I are such big planners that we basically know where we are spending every minute of our trip! Which I planned and am OK with! :)
Any suggestions to places to see or eat at would be great! We will be there for three full days and basically two whole days of travel. But my sister and I never get alone time without the kids or our family members so I'm excited for some one on one facetime with her!

We are thinking of getting massages as well. I have been trying really hard to research a bunch of places close to our hotel so we don't have to travel far on our "relax by the pool day" but I think we'll have to venture out regardless. I've been looking at Bliss Spa. It has lots of locations all over the US and it looks decent on the insight. I want the actual spa feeling wherever we go, not some nail salon with a waxing room in the back.

Also I'm seriously considering getting a tattoo while we are out there. I have two now....by the way I just told my Dad that I have tattoos and I'm shocked that he wasn't that mad! I got one when I was 18 of two little stars on my hip and the other one I got when I was 19 of a swirly design. Both are silly and don't mean anything expect they hold great memories of those I went with to get them. I want to get one honoring my Mom. My Dad said he was considering getting one too which blew my mind! I'm thinking of getting either her birthdate in roman numerals or her initials. My parents have the same initials before and after they got married....my mom's maiden name started with an M and so did her married name! So I think that's rare and I could honor both of them with one tattoo. Or I've seen people get tattoos of the persons handwriting. I tracked down cards from my wedding and baby shower from my mom that says "Love Mom (and Dad)" on them but I would have them just trace her handwriting of 'Love Mom'. I guess I need to  make up  my mind before I go!!

Well I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! It's going to be freezing cold here in Michigan so I plan to hunker down with the little one and cuddle up!

Thoughts for Thursday

Since baby girl is 8 months old already (WHAT?!?!) I thought I would try to remember all the things that I couldn't live without in the beginning.

1// Swaddles - I loved these swaddles! I tried the velcro ones but Em always got out of them and the loud noise it made when I was undoing them bugged me. These were super soft and easy to wrap her up in.
2// Rock N Play - This is what Em slept in in the beginning. I always put the vibration feature on but Eric said he never did.
3// Dr Brown Bottles - I used these when we were breast feeding and using formula. I like that they reduce gas and reflux.
4// Medela Storage System- I loved using these bottles for storage when I was pumping. It was easy and durable.
5// Car seat toys - Em loved these toys hanging from her playmat or her car seat. It helped her with her hand eye coordination.
6// Britax Travel System - Since Em was a summer baby I loved taking her for walks in this stroller. It folds up super easy and it's light weight. The car seat however is SUPER heavy! Emily is 20lbs now and the car seat alone is like 10lbs!
7// Radio Alarm Clock - I did not want to use a sound machine because I cant stand the noises it makes. However I knew we needed to have a clock in there and that clock had a radio sooooooo Em's sound machine is our local country music station! :)
8// Aquaphor - Emily has really sensitive skin so the Aquaphor helps any red marks or dry spots.
9// Jolly Pop - In the beginning Em used a paci. She doesn't anymore but when she did we got these from the hospital and she loved them! I loved them too because they were solid silicone.
10// Onesie - Having a summer baby made it hard to put her in anything other than a light onesie. Plus it was easy to get them on and off. I'm a big 'no fuss no muss' type of person so the simplicity of the onesie is my favorite!
11// Play Mat - I loved being able to put her under this and she was happy and excited the whole time! She was learning and comfy all at the same time!
12// Bath Tub - we struggled with in the beginning. We got this one first but Em hated it. She cried every time we gave her a bath. I never understood why. Turns out she was freezing because I never filled the bath up enough to cover her (because I was scared it should fall under the water). So this one she is covered by the water and now she loves it.
13// Pampers - I choose to use Pampers Swaddler's because again the hospital sent us home with them. But I have never had any issues with them. I have also tried the Pampers Dry at night which have helped with her sleeping through the night. When I use the Swaddler's they are pretty wet when she gets up.

Well I hope this was informative. These are just a few of the things I used when Em was my tiny little peanut!
