Weekend Recap

We had another great fall weekend full of family and friends! Some of our plans fell through but we made the best of it!
We visited our friends who were in town. They have a little girl as well which is great for the dads to be able to talk about all the craziness that comes with having girls!

We went to a few stores, did some returns and made some purchases! I bought some fabric to try my hand at quilting! The dad's and I took the girls for a walk around town (my girlfriend was at a bachelorette party, we'll take her on the next walk).

After that we went to Eric's mom's house to visit with my SIL and her kids! I taught my 6 yr old nephew a new magic card trick! He was amazed! I love showing kids all the fun things we did as kids that don't involve an iPad or Wii.

We went for a walk on a local trail with my in laws and the kids. They had trick or treating along it so all the kids dressed up. It was such a nice day outside!

We did some chores around the house after the walk, we painted Em's pumpkin then Em and I learned a little about Snapchat.
She played in her activity chair and liked it! She only lasts about 10 minutes in it but I'll take it!
Lastly I've only dyed my hair once. I tried blonde highlights and hated them! I only had them for a few months then had to have her re-dye it back to my natural color. Then I was thinking maybe I went the wrong way with color. I went light instead of darker. I am wanting to go with an auburn brown color next. I need to try another color before I give up entirely on hair dying.
Hope have you had a great weekend as well!

Thoughts for Thursday

//I've been using two small flash drives to store most of my photos on but I've been having to delete little projects to make more room. I finally bought a bigger flash drive to store all of my photos on!  Sometimes it's little changes that we make that have the biggest effect!

//Baby girl has been a little off schedule lately but is thriving and doing great! Last night I fed her around 7 was planning to have Eric feed her a bottle just before bed but she fell sleep. Eric put her in her crib and she slept from 9-1230. Then woke up and took her bottle and went back to bed until 5! :) I was nervous since she had been sleeping for so long she wouldn't go back down but she fussed a bit in her crib then settled down and drifted back to dreamland!

//My family is coming to visit this weekend and I am so excited! We are going to do a ton of fall activities with the kids! We're going to a cider mill to pick apples and get some yummy cider and donuts. We are going to decorate pumpkin cookies and make apple and pumpkin pies. Lastly we are going to paint some pumpkins and hopefully enjoy a bonfire on our new patio!

//I'm trying Bolthouse Farms Fruit Juice Smoothies for the first time and the one I choose I am not impressed with. I'm trying Tropical Goodness but its a bit tough to choke down. I know it's good for me but I shouldn't have to chase it with water! They were bogo at Meijer so I thought I would try some. I bought Berry Blast and Multi-V Goodness Cherry and I'm hoping they are better than Tropical Goodness...

Hope you have a great Thursday! :)

Weekend Review

We had an amazing fall weekend! We didn't any thing scheduled so we just had a lazy weekend at the house! I love those type of weekends because it makes the time go slower!

We had a bonfire on our new patio! We had pretzels and cheese dip for dinner...not healthy but it worked for us! Whenever Eric holds Em he says "Take my picture!". I'm like well if I'm always taking pictures of you and her, I won't be in any of them! so we had to take separate pictures hanging on the patio with Em!
Also I bought a bunch of new bow's for Em on Friday! We are serious about stepping up our bow game! I got them from CuteBows4Girls on Etsy and I'm fairly pleased with them so far! I bought 6 bow and headband sets and the rest are bows that I can attach to the headbands. I found a new band that I like best though... NYLON! I cut up an old pair of nylons I had and they stretch and fit her head perfectly! That way the emphasis is on the bow and not the band. She has a large head so finding a band that fits and isn't too tight or too loose is difficult. The nylon fits like a clove but isn't too tight!
Eric went fishing in the AM so it was just Em, Moose and I. We watched a few episodes of Glee and danced to a few of the numbers. Em was a little crabby this weekend and only wanted me to hold her. I find the best way to hold her instead of just standing and rocking is to DANCE! :) Glee is my new binge series on Netflix. Also food for thought I would love to start a Netflix series club. It would be like book club but with Netflix TV series! We had a few friends over Saturday night to try out our new patio for entertaining! It worked out great! Also Eric put together the bar from our wedding and it looks great. We had our wedding at my in-laws house so we had to bring everything including the bar. Well Eric wanted the bar to pretty much be the focal point of the reception so he built one and it turned out awesome! It's been at his Dad's for the past few years but he finally brought it home and reassembled it! He had to cut it down a big to fit because it was massive! We plan to stain it and add a few things but I think it'll work out nicely!
Sunday was another lazy day but we got a lot accomplished. I watched a few more episodes of Glee, I got my sewing machine out and learned how to use it all while holding Em! We did some tummy time and just relaxed all day!

Hope you had a fabulous weekend!

Five on Friday

//For the past few weeks Eric brings home donuts on Friday which is amazing! It's like a little treat that you don't always get but when you do get them its amazing! Only on Friday they have French cruller donuts which are my favorite. The bakery in town calls them tractor wheels and I think its adorable!!!

//We are having our first family photo shoot next weekend while my sister is in town. She takes our photo for our Christmas card every year. Last year I was hoping I was pregnant when we took ours so I could surprise her with baby shoes or something. What I didn't know was that I was pregnant but we didn't find out till the next week! So this year I'm excited that our little one will be in the picture this year! :) These are the three outfits I need to choose from. I'm leaning towards the pink or green outfit then having her wear the red and black check one for the holidays.
//We have a ton of fall activities planned next weekend and the following so I'm super excited! I started to get in the mood when making pumpkin sugar cookies and watching Hocus Pocus! AMUCK AMUCK AMUCK!
// Someone is excited about being a bumble bee for Halloween! Thank you Google Photos for making this adorable GIF of my bumble bee! As parents you know you have to take like 7 pictures to get a good one and Google Photos make s a little GIF out of it for me! :)
// I'm excited to hang out on our patio this weekend as I'm afraid it'll be our last nice one! Here are a few sneak peaks at what we've done so far!

Thoughts for Thursday

//Cheddar Jack Cheez-It's are delicious! I usually have the originals or the white cheddar but cheddar jack...HELLO!

//My boss won't sign off on any projects I've been working on lately and its driving me crazy! Just say yes! We both know its better to switch vendors and save money so why are we going to just sit on it? GRRR

//I found a new show that I LOVEEE and I found out it aired back in 2013 and only made one season... not cool NBC! I watched This Is Us on the NBC app then I looked at the other shows they offer and Guys with Kids was one of them and it is AWESOME! It's so funny and relatable!! If you have time check it out!!

//When (binge) watching a show on any app it's obnoxious watching the same commercials OVER AND OVER AND OVER again! Bravo and NBC need to change up their sponsors because I can recite their commercials now.

//I've been researching Christmas presents for everyone in our family. I like to make a list of everything I'm going to get everyone that way when I see it on sale or find it at a store I can pick it up. We have 21 people to buy for (not including ourselves) and 7 of those people have birthdays in November and December! I like to make a point to get them two separate gifts because they should feel special on their birthday and received two gifts.

Baby Girl is 3 Months Old!

I can't believe my little girl is 3 months old already! I swear I was just learned that she was a girl at the ultrasound and now she's 3 months old!
Here is her 1, 2 and 3 month photos side by side!

  • Baby girl is probably around 13-14lbs by now. We don't have a scare in our house to keep up with how much she weighs. She was 12.5 at her 2month appointment so I'm assuming she's between 13-14lbs now.
  • She loves to smile at mommy and daddy!
  • She is enjoying tummy time more than she did before. She sleeps anywhere from 3-6 hours at a time.
  • She's still in 1 diapers but quickly approaching the 2's. She's wearing 3Month clothes but 6Month sleepers fit her better length wise.
  • She's eating about 4oz at a time. (I don't know exactly how much she's getting's when she nurses but I make her a 4oz bottle for when I'm at work)
  • She loves country music because I refuse to listen to a sound machine all the hours that I'm in her nursery. So we have a radio on constantly in her room. I sometimes change the channel to pop but it's mostly on country. H.O.L.Y by FGL is her lullaby instead of Twinkle Twinkle!
  • I just ordered a ton of band and bows so I'm hopeful that they will fit and she will be rockin bows from now one!
  • She has learned to fake cry! She knows I won't come get her unless she's really crying but her fake cry is so cute!
She's getting so big! I want to keep these little  moments forever!

Yay For Friday!

As you can see I've updated my pages look. I've had the other layout for about 2 years now and I thought it was time for a change. Hopefully it's aesthetically pleasing to you all! :)

A few things I'm obsessed with lately...
// I ordered this coat from H&M. I tried it on in the store and fell in love! Sadly they didn't have my size so I had to order it online and it should be here shortly!

// The physical therapist recommended this pillow called Elephant Ears for Emily's neck issues. It's great when she's in the car seat because she likes to twist her head to the side and it looks really uncomfortable. It looks like she likes it so far!

//This season of Below Deck is killing it! I really love the show to begin with but I especially love Captain Lee, Chef Ben and Head Stew Kate.....Kelly's nice to look at too! :)

//HALLOWEEN! I have been racking my brain on a cute costume for Em or a cute family costume.  I'm still thinking of making her a bumble bee but I'm not 100% sold on it that idea. I found this adorable crochet elephant hat to make her an elephant. Ahh I'm so torn!  Suggestions are welcome!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

What's Happening Wednesday

Hello again!

This weekend was a blast celebrating my birthday!! I didn't get too many pictures but I got a few.

We went to my SIL's homecoming parade. She was on court this year so we went to support her baby in the carrier in the pouring rain and all!
My FIL started a balloon festival in Lansing so we went to support that as well. Unfortunately the weather was crappy but we were able to stay in the hotel with all the balloon people and had a blast catching up with them. Also it was baby's first time in a hotel! I had her in the adorable (way too big) MSU sweatshirt and she spit up on it 2 seconds after this photo. Luckily I had cute back up outfits!!
we attended a surprise party for my Uncle. He and I share the same birthday so it was nice to be able to celebrate with him and our family. I have been trying to take as many pictures as possible with Em and parents. I love the way she looks a them with such love and joy!
My mom, sister and I did some serious shopping! I can't even try to list everything I got because it's a lot! We had a blast and I can't wait to do it again sometime!
//Today we are pouring concrete for our patio! :) I can't wait to have a level area to put our table, bar and grill. Also we'll have our fire pit close so that we can sit and eat dinner while having a fire, or sit at the bar and have a fire, or just entertain a large group of people at the fire! :)
//I only have 5 medical bills left to pay from giving birth! It started at like 12 and now I'm down to just the 5 big ones! That's exciting!
//We took baby girl to physical therapy yesterday for her neck. The Dr. was concerned at her 2month appointment that he neck muscles on one side weren't strong enough. She also said she had a bit of a flat spot on one side of her head. We have been working with her since the check up to strengthen her muscles and I think it's working. The physical therapist said she was doing great at moving her head side to side and straight on. They gave us a few other exercises to do but we didn't have to make a follow up because they thought she was doing great! :) whew! Make sure you alternate arms that you hold your baby as well as the side you lay them down on at night!
//I'm also trying out this watermark thing. I know others are big advocates of it, but I'm not sure if it's needed or not.
Linking up with Jenn at Going The Distance
I hope you have a fabulous day! Thanks for stopping by!
