Thoughts for Thursday: My Confessions

I'm link up with Annie and Natalie to share some of my thoughts/confessions today.

  • I found these adorable sconces for our baby girl's nursery this week at a local antique shop in town! I guess you could say I going for a country shabby chic look. Eric said he could get them working and we'll get little white lamp shades for the top and they could be little night lights!
  • I also found a few other goodies at the antique shop that I couldn't leave behind! The basket will sit on the dresser and I'll fill it with diapers, wipes and lotions. The gold clutch was $10 and I'm a big sucker for vintage almost 'one of a kind' pieces.
  • This week we finalized our baby girls name and Eric wants to shout it from the rooftops! I want to hang on to it a little bit longer before we make it 100% official. I have been writing it down everywhere, saying it out loud millions of times and I already have a few nicknames for her!
  •  I can't wait for summer to get here. I'm over the warm, then cold, then rain, then warm, then cold weather. Also I'm ready for baby shower season!
  • I am obsessed with these L'O'real Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Towelettes. They give a great sun-kissed glow overnight. Unfortunately when you are applying the wipes you can't see the spots you've missed until the next day. I did my legs the first day and had a few spots that I had missed. I had my husband do my back, arms and neck the next day and he didn't miss a thing. Apparently he's a professional!
Loreal sublime bronze self-tanning towelettes, for body, medium natural tan, 6 towelettes
  • Today is my Friday WHOOP WHOOOPP!
  • I apologize if I offend anyone when I say this but I'm super over talking about BeyoncĂ©'s new song Lemonade. I understand she basically admitted that Jay-Z cheated on her and had times of regret but 1.) They are obviously still together 2.) It's probably a publicity stunt because she's going on tour 3.) The song in my opinion is not even a song. I apologize to all of you our there who praise her and love her......but this one was a big dud to me and I don't know why everyone is making a big deal out of it!
  • I heard they are trying to pass a law today in Michigan that would make High School kids learn CRP before they graduate and I think that's awesome! I think it's a lifesaving tool that everyone should know. A girl who went to my HS went into cardiac arrest at a swim meet and ended up dying from the episode so now they have defibrillators at the HS. I was a lifeguard at a private pool in HS so I haven't been recertified but having a baby makes me want to get my husband, our nanny and my in-laws certified so that if anything should happen we can be prepared.
  • At night baby girl likes to practice her soccer kicks on my lower stomach. I have noticed that every time I tell Eric to come feel the baby she usually stops kicking after knowing he's there. So I used this to my advantage last night and had Eric try to feel her so she would stop kicking me so hard! haha After a while she realized what I was trying to do and knew when Eric was trying to feel her vs. me so she only kicked when I was holding her....what a smarty pants!
Have a good weekend!

Weekending

Good Morning!
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. It was sunny and gorgeous here in Southwest Michigan. We shopped, we relaxed, we grilled out, we enjoyed the beautiful weather and we celebrated Easter (we had to wait until the snowbirds flew back from Florida)!

Saturday a few of my girlfriends and I traveled to Grand Rapids for a Mom to Mom sale. I was so excited to get a few outfits for our little one!

I think we made out pretty well. All of us got stuff and I even got her to cutest little bathing suit for next year! I spent $30 on all of this! :)

I love this time of year when its getting warm but all the Chicago people haven't come to town yet! :)

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Confessions

I confess…..
….My wardrobe is becoming more and more limited. Trying to pretend it doesn't look 6 sizes too small for my growing bump is no longer an option.
….I’ve always been a side sleeper and now I feel like I always wake up on my back which is apparently not good for the baby….i need to work on this….putting pillows wedged behind me does nothing to help.
…I made a mean half regular half BBQ chicken homemade pizza last night!
…one of my good friends at work is leaving tomorrow and I seriously don't know what I’m going to do without her here….we say we’ll keep in touch but will we.....
….im sick and tired of hearing all the bad stuff going on around the world. Now I try to watch Quint's by Surprise on TLC instead of the news in the morning.
….this short hair needs to start growing. I cut it three weeks ago and I swear it hasn't grown an inch. Usually I’m calling her to set up another appointment by now because the style needs to be trimmed so often….this is proof that she cut it WAY to short this time!
….when I was a kid there was a slot time on TV called Prime Time, it was 8pm….now I feel like the new Prime Time is 10PM. I either need to start watching different shows or these shows need to realize that they need to pump their time slots up to 8PM for me to watch it live. Watching them later on demand or catching a re-run just isn’t the same!

I'm linking up with Jess for some confessions this week!

We're More Than Halfway!

Today I am 23 Weeks 4 days along. I still need to take my 23 week picture but its not much different from the 22 week. I clearly need to work on my posture based on these photos!
How Far Along: 23 weeks and 4 days - 6 months along. Last month of my second trimester.
Size of Baby: She's definitely bigger than a pound now. She was 15 ounces at our last appointment which was two weeks ago. It may not look like it but I've only gained 3lbs so far during my pregnancy.
Gender: ITS A GIRL! I'm still in shock that it's a girl! But I love talking to her and calling her baby girl!
Movement: Yes she moving around all over the place in there! I have felt her for a while but Eric has just started to be able to feel her and I almost cry every time he does. At first he couldn't feel her at all and I couldn't understand why, I was feeling this powerful kick and he couldn't feel anything! Then he was second guessing what he was feeling. He thought it was me kicking him. Now he can feel her big girl soccer kicks just like her momma! :) I can see her movement on the outside but nothing like a arm or a leg, just little kicks every now and then.
Sleep: From 6 weeks to about 12 weeks I was a heavy sleeper and I'm usually a really light sleeper. From 12 weeks until 20 weeks I was a light sleeper. And now I'm back to being a heavy sleeper. Last night I feel asleep sitting up with my glasses on...oops!
Symptoms: I have not been sick at all this pregnancy. I threw up once but it was because I took my prenatal vitamin on an empty stomach. I've had one faint/dizzy spell where I lost my balance for a moment but I've been fine every since. Other than that just a little tired.
Cravings/Aversions: In the beginning I ate apples and clementine's like crazy. The smell of lemon Lysol wipes did not agree with me in the beginning but now I'm ok with them. Now I'm on a Propel water kick! I love the Strawberry Kiwi, Black Cherry, Lemon and Berry ones!
Missing Most: With summer approaching I'm dreaming of a sip of Bud Light.
Nursery: I have a few ideas but nothing set in stone. I'm thinking of doing a somber color scheme from beach colors. NOT BEACH DECOR! NO SEASHELLS!!! Just the relaxing colors you see at the beach, the sand, the beach glass turquoises and blues and maybe a hint of beach grass green. This could totally change in the next few months but for now it sounds peaceful.

Eric: Is doing great! He's been helping me out around the house since my ability to bend is limited now a days. I think he's excited for the baby. He definitely likes picking out the new baby stuff when we were registering. He really loves our stroller. He can't wait to push her around in it! He has been working like crazy around the house to get all of our little projects finished so he can relax this summer before she arrives. He's a little nervous about the hospital part. He gets really nervous and anxious around hospitals or anything medical. Even just talking about it can make him nervous. Sooo we are still trying to work through that!

Confessions

I'm linking up with Jess for some confessions this week!

  • My enthusiasm for reading others blogs has gone downhill since I found out I was pregnant. I try to keep up with the regular ones I follow but its getting harder and harder. Also if the picture next to the post is of a bunch of clothes, a book review or a meal I’ll probably never make….I’m skipping over that post. 1.) I cant fit into whatever clothes you posted which makes me said so I skip it. 2.) I haven’t been much of a reader lately so I probably won’t read that book. 3.) If it says quinoa, healthy or quick I’ll probably skip over it too.
  • I could eat a whole sleeve of Oreo's in one sitting right now!
  • Finally the People V. OJ Simpson is done! it was starting to get drawn out and boring. We all knew the outcome but it was interesting to see how it affects others in the case. Also I was shocked to see that 10 jurors said Not Guilty and only 2 said Guilty. I thought it would have been more of a divide then that.
  • I just received an email that our crib has shipped and I cant' wait for it to arrive!!! J
  • I would love to go on a baby-moon somewhere but it’s hard because we live in a tourist town so it’s almost a waste to spend money to go to another tourist town. Eric said we should do a stay-cataion and go out on the boat every day and relax and just enjoy doing nothing.
  • I don't understand Snapchat….isn’t it the same thing as Instagram?
  • I’m on a huge Propel water kick right now. Strawberry Kiwi and Black Cherry are the flavors of the week.
  • Bravo is on point this week its all of its new summer shows starting up! Southern Charm, Shahs of Sunset and RHONY!
  • I am so stuck on what diaper bag to get its ridiculous! I’m going for a specific look and I’m having trouble accomplishing it. The stroller and car seat cover I’ve got locked in but I want a certain bag that is like $300+ which I'm not paying that for a diaper bag. I know that's its just going to be carrying diapers and other messy kid stuff but I still want it to look nice. I’m a bag person if you couldn’t tell. J

Nursery Ideas

Our crib is ORDERED!!!! :) I can't believe that it will be here in less than two weeks! We got the Fisher-Price Lakeland 4 in 1 Convertible Crib. We also purchased the side rail that will convert it into a toddler bed later when she starts to crawl out! Safety first!!

Next we plan to purchase the Fisher-Price Lakeland 6-Drawer Dresser to match!
This weekend we registered at Babies R Us and Target which was super fun! I felt very knowledgeable about most of the items. Having 6 nieces and nephews helped me to understand what I will use and what I won't. It's also helped me to understand the use of each of these crazy products!
Since finding out we're having a girl a million things have gone through my head and the nursery is one I can't decide on. I want it to have lots of color and stimulating things but I would also love a simple sleek looking room. I'm torn between the two. Here are a few nursery's I love!
Love this bathrooms color scheme for the nursery as well.

Or I can go the sleek girly route,

So many ideas, how can I choose just one!
