Gender Reveal Party

Last weekend we had a gender reveal party with our family. We found out the gender last Tuesday and we had to wait until Saturday to tell everyone. Let me tell you it was the hardest 5 days of my life. I told my Mom I wasn't going to be calling her too much during that time because I knew I would spill the beans! Luckily Eric and I made it all the way to the party without letting it slip! My Mom will tell you I slipped but I didn't!

Eric loved the nuts no nuts idea so we had Peanut M&M's for the nuts and regular M&M for no nuts!

These were the old wives tales I found and most of them pointed towards boy.

Should we tell them?

All of the grandparents!
Now we have hundreds of things running through our minds because we were so sure it was a boy. We have to design a nursery, figure out what names we like and start picking out clothes for her. My sister in law gave me some of her old baby girl clothes and I am so excited to put them on our daughter. My niece is only 9 months old so our daughter will get some of her hand me downs! :) I used to love getting hand-me-downs from my cousins growing up!
We had such an amazing time at the party that I know this little girl will be loved!
Also thank you to my sister at BeLoved Photography by Amanda Rae for taking these awesome pictures for us!

I'm linking up with Jess for some confessions this week!
I confess
…We found out the gender of our baby on Tuesday and I’ve been dying to share it with the world ever since! We are having a gender reveal party this weekend for our family so I have to hold off a little bit longer! We are so excited!!!! I’m terrible at keeping secrets especially exciting ones like this!
…I was shocked when watching the People v. OJ this week that it all of a sudden ended on me. I re-watched the end like 4 times and didn't see anything indicating that it was coming to an end like coming up next week or anything. I can’t believe they treated the jury like that! And that so many of them lied on the questionnaire!!
….Last night I ate more than half a bag…a big bag…of sour patch kids….oops.
….I love that we get Good Friday off at work. Tomorrow I have to make the cupcakes for the party, take Moose to the vet, get my hair cut, get my nails done if there’s time and figure out what I’m going to wear on Saturday.
…I’ve been watching a bunch of videos on YouTube on how to make the best buttercream frosting as well as how to pipe it onto a cupcake. The people make it look sooo easy! One did suggest practicing piping on a piece of wax paper first to. This way you don’t waste any cupcakes or frosting because you can scoop it up and put it back in the bag!
…I’m excited to watch the new show The Catch on ABC. Of course I’ll be watching it tomorrow because I can’t stay up that late! Although I’m nervous because the reason I’m excited to watch is the guy from Parenthood is on it. However I don’t think he will be anything like his character from that show on this one!
….My antenna on my car broke off so I’ve been without radio all week…..try not listening to the radio for a day let alone a week!!! I’m trying to use CD’s in my car but they are all old and skip which is super irritating! I can plug my phone in I know but I hate using my phone to flip through music while I drive.

I'm linking up with Jess for some confessions this week!
I confess that....
I have been feeling this baby kick like crazy lately! It's an awesome feeling since I had any other symptoms other than gaining the big bump on my stomach. I have not gained any weight thus far but I'm sure that will change next week when we go to the dr, I haven't been sick (I've thrown up once but I think it was because I took my prenatal vitamin on an empty stomach) but the only real symptom I've had is when I could feel my ligaments stretching. Now that I can actually feel the little guy or girl in there moving around it's more reassuring that they are in there!
This is going to be the longest 5 days of my life! We find out the gender on Tuesday and I'm sooo anxious to see it! I'll be happy with either gender I just want to see my little one! I haven't seen it since it was the size of a peanut!
I recently read and article about tearing during labor and that was a mistake. I'm more of a know less unless you are in the situation type of person. I don't want to worry about things that don't apply to me but the statistics they were giving were not helping calm my nerves!
Day light savings has really thrown me off my sleeping game. I'm staying up later and having a terrible time getting up. I set 4 alarms and I'm usually up by the 2nd or 3rd and just resting until the 4th and now I'm hitting snooze on the 4th! NOT GOOD!
We are thinking of getting a bigger car for me so we will have enough room for baby and dog and all our stuff. I want a Durango because I like the fact that the third row seats fold all the way down in in the way back but Eric is convinced we are getting a Tahoe or a Suburban which I don't like. Any suggestions on an SUV with 3rd row seating that folds flat, has a bench seat that I can fold down 40/60? Those are my two requirements.
Eric has been working hard! He's almost finished with our 1/2 bath. At least we have a working sink and toilet now!
He also installed a new garage door and it does make the house look better.
I definitely jinxed the weather. It was supposed to be in the 60's and its only gotten to the upper 40s and next week its supposed to be in the 30s! WHAT?!

This week I have been gathering ideas for our gender reveal party that we are going to have with our family. I’ve been making little signs and cards for everything. I can’t wait to find out what we’re having.
I feel that I have had a growth spurt in the last week or two. This is getting crazy and I’m only half way through. My mom and sister carried on the larger side so I'm sure I will too. 18 weeks! :)

I watch The People v. OJ Simpson Trial on Wednesday instead of Tuesday because I can’t stay up till 10PM to watch it. I felt soooo bad for Marcia Clark this week. She felt so confident in her new haircut then people didn't like it. THEN her first husband sold a nude photo of her to the tabloids and I can just imagine how embarrassed she must have felt. She couldn't catch a break last night!
Tuesday night I had ice cream for dinner. What’s the point of eating dinner then eating a big ice cream cone…at least I’m cutting calories! The baby definitely enjoyed it!
I am officially in maternity pants only. Yesterday I tried to wear a pair of work pants that have an elastic waist but weren’t maternity…man do I regret doing that!
I can’t wait for the 60’s and almost 70’s next week! It’s crazy to already be in the 60’s let alone 70’s in Michigan in March but I cannot wait! I want to wear cute sandals and maxi dresses and not have to worry about a jacket!
I’m hoping I’ll have pictures to share next week of our ½ bath remodel. We just bought a new toilet and sink for it and I am super excited to see what they look like installed! This is where we’re at with it today vs before.

Today’s confession is something I have been wanting to share with all of you for quite some time now.
I’m excited to announce that my husband and I are expanding our family. We have a little one due in August and we could not be more excited!
-We are 17 weeks along.
-I haven’t been sick at all, sometimes a little nauseous or dizzy. CRAMPS AND STRETCHING ALL THE TIME!
-My skin has been itchy even though I put lotion on all the time! Also my face is breaking out like I’m 13 again!
-I have yet to gain any weight, however my husband will tell you it looks like I’ve swallowed a small beach ball. I’ve been eating better than I ever have before so I think that's helping to keep my weight down.
-I can still eat everything I did before. I haven’t had any weird reactions to any time of food yet.
-With my heightened sence of smell, Lysol wipes are the only thing I can’t stand.
-I have been in maternity clothes since I was 10 weeks along. I’ve also found that wireless bras are my new favorite things!
- We will be finding out the gender. My husband doesn't do well with hospitals so I need to know as much info ahead of time because we don’t know what’s going to happen come go time! (Any advice on squirm-ish husbands would be appreciated!)
-I don’t worry about the small stuff as much anymore. I have had a very calm pregnancy thus far.
- I think I've felt the baby move but it’s still too early to confirm if that's what it was or not. But if it was we were watching the Big Bang Theory when Bernadette tells everyone she’s pregnant! J Maybe it was a sign!
-Pregnancy brain is a thing, I just never thought I would get it this early on in the game. Sometimes I find myself putting the OJ back in the cabinet instead of the fridge. Or going into a cabinet then forgetting what I was needing to get out. It’s crazy!
-Sleeping has been ok. I’m seriously thinking of getting one of those body pillow things. We have a king bed and our 60lb lab sleeps with us so I’m a little nervous it’ll take up too much room, but if it gets this Momma a good night’s sleep, bring it on!
-I have had some great women in my life to influence me on what type of Mom I want to be. I feel prepared, scared, excited, nervous and anxious to meet our little one!
