Friday YAY!

Good Morning!!! I hope you had a pleasant week! I feel like this week went by pretty slow but I'm sure this weekend will sadly fly by. This week my husband accomplished a lot! He put a light/fan in the bathroom/laundry room so I no longer have to use a construction light that I have to plug in in the kitchen! He had the new countertops installed. I must say they get more fabulous every day. Eric put up some of the backsplash last night and it is the cherry on top of the kitchen sundae! I feel like the finishing touches are so close to being done that I can almost see the finish line of all of our projects inside the house!

Kitchen Overhaul

So my husband decided we should install new fitted countertops this week, on top of our bathroom re-do that is still in progress. Our cabinets are custom made so we have a few extra inches on them. Meaning we couldn't get premade countertops because they will have a gap between the counter and the wall. We had someone come out and do a custom laminate and I must say the look fabulous. However I was not anticipating buying a new sink and faucet as well. When there is order in my house again I'm sure everything will come together fabulously. However right now everything is everywhere! #handyhusband #maybetoohandy

I can't wait till the backsplash is up and the kitchen is clean! It feels like a war zone right now!

Bathroom Redo

Our house has been a work in progress for the last two years. I'm sure it'll be a work in progress for another two years as well but we are so close to being done with updates. We finally put the tile floor down in our entry way. It's been gross concrete forever. Now Eric has moved his focus to our 1/2 bath/laundry room. I've hated that room because we didn't really do anything to it except paint and put down some vinyl floor. While it looked ok, we both knew it wasn't. Eric accidentally broke our washing machine over the holidays so we just ordered new ones and they have arrived! :) Eric has the tile down, 2 of the 4 pieces of dry wall up and we are probably going to have to buy new fixtures for this bathroom as well. Luckily we have another full bath that we can use in the mean time. We plan to take this half back and make it a full bath but again, in due time.

Excuse the mess. I ran my first few loads and it was wonderful! We have been without a washer and dryer for almost a month now! As you can see everything is still a work in progress but at least I can do laundry at my house instead of my mother in laws now! Big shout out to Kim and Steve for letting us take over their laundry room the past few Saturdays! This is my inspiration for what I want this room to look like when its finished!

I've always seen these cupcakes from a vending machine and I've always wanted to try them. Luckily there was a store next to the vending machine so we were able to get fresh cupcakes! I got red velvet and it was amazing!

We're all goddess'!

Learning to play Roulette. I won a few times then we went on to play Black Jack which I loved!

We found a little piece of home in Vegas...THE D!

We had dinner at a place off Freemont Street called Nacho Daddy. It was delicious!!! I had a chicken quesadilla and I could eat that everyday!

I am so excited that I got to experience Vegas with my best friends, but I'll wait a while before I go back again. We stayed just off the strip so we were able to walk from our hotel which was great. We did a lot of walking and my cave's are tired! I recommend only going for 2 nights and 3 days, we went 3 nights and 4 days and it was a bit much. Thankfully having 16 girls wasn't as bad as I thought. We all got along and I actually got to know some of them better! I can't wait for my friends shower and wedding to see all the girls again!

Happy 2016

Terribly sorry for the long long long hiatus. I only took a few pictures over the holiday season which is a huge fail on my part. However I did enjoy every minute with our families and friends. We loved everything we got from others and we think everyone loved our gifts to them as well. We brought in the New Year with friends watching MSU football team loose to Alabama.  Not the greatest night but we still enjoyed the company we were with. 2015 was an amazing year. We made our maiden voyage on the new boat. We were able to host more people comfortably at one time. We had dinners on the beach, which I think we will continue this year. We finished a few projects on the house. Of course there are still more to come! We celebrated our 3rd year of marriage, we turned 28 and we became members of the Moose club.
My hope for 2016 is that with everything we do, we do it with a smile instead of stress. I hope that with every new adventure comes an amazing memory and possibly new traditions. I'm not going to put goals out there for them not to be met or not to be crossed off. I am going to take 2016 by the horns and enjoy every minute of what is thrown our way! :)
Now in other news I have Vegas on the mind! My best is getting married in April and we are going on a little girls weekend trip to VEGAS! I've never been so I'm a bit nervous but I'm terribly excited! I have stacked my playlist full of songs for the 4 hour plane ride. My sister gave me a new book to read which is also packed. My sister-in-law gave me one of those adult coloring books, I thought I would take that just incase I get really antsy. But when we step off that plane....

Also we are in the middle of redoing our half bath. It's also our laundry room and our washer recently died....Eric's never done the laundry, I'm gone for 3 days and he decides its time to start....now I have a broken washer. Anyways $1500 later we have a pretty new matching set being delivered next week.
We are taking off the walls because they are this gross fiberglass that we just painted over and putting dry wall in. We are going to add a shower where that window is (it lead into our garage so we are going to have the shower poke out into the garage a bit). But adding another shower in our house is going to be amazing when we have guest! Also we are tiling the floor instead of the vinyl I made Eric put down this summer. We will add nice cabinets and a counter top above the washer and dryer. I can't wait! :)
