I'm Thankful For....

My Husband- I am extremely lucky that I was able to find someone that loves me exactly the way I am. I am thankful that he appreciates and encourages me every day.

My Family and friends – I am thankful that I have family and friends who love and support me. In such a big scary world it’s nice to have people you can count on for small talk, a laugh, a hug or just knowing they are there for you.

My Health- I think this one is the top thing most of us take for granted. Although I’m not in the best shape I am still thankful that I am in good health and so are those around me.

My Job – I am thankful that I have a job that I can go to and smile. I'm lucky that I actually enjoy what I do. I am thankful that my boss is kind and understanding. I am thankful that Eric has a great job as well. I have had my far share of horrible bosses but I’m glad that I finally found a job where I feel like everything fits just right!

Our Home- I am thankful that we were able to make this little house a home! We will always have our eye on the market to see what becomes available and we are always looking for opportunities but I will have a hard time if we ever had to leave our little home. I have grown to love and appreciate it because we have put a lot of time, sweat, tears and money into it and I love every little thing about it.

Laughter- I am thankful that I can say I laugh every single day. I think that laughter is something people don’t recognized as being a healthy part of life. If I went one day without smiling or laughing, it would be the saddest day of my life. Laughing is a form of producing endorphins, “endorphins make you happy, happy people just don't kill their husbands” ( Can you guess the movie from that line?  -LB Every time I say the word endorphins that's what comes to mind!)

Nestlé Toll House Cookie Recipe – I am thankful for one of the best cookie recipes there is. My mom used to make these cookies all the time when I was a kid. I never thought much of it then but now it makes the cookies taste like home. I only make them once every few months or so. I truly enjoy the memories, the taste and the comfort they bring!

I hope that you all enjoy your holiday with your families and are thankful for them!

I need to add more to the trees but at least they are up and lit! As you can see I was decorating and being lazy this weekend! Sometimes you just need those kinds of weekends!

Food For Thought

Someone once told me that women's minds are like spaghetti and men's minds are like waffles. Women are constantly thinking about a million things. We stir the pasta, the sauce and the meatballs all together and our minds are constantly going.

Men are like waffles because they think mainly about whatever they are doing then they move onto the next thing. The fill one square up with syrup then they move onto the next square and so on.
Whenever I'm playing Candy Crush and I have one more candy to crush Rosie O'Donnell from A League of Their Own pops into my head yelling "ONE MORE!"
Yes I know this isn't the right part but they don't have a GIF for that part of the movie!
Last night was the season finale of Below Deck season 3. I can't get enough of Eddie, Captain Lee, Ben, Kate, Connie and Amy. Rocky and Emile I'm over. This season has been so crazy!  I hope they keep most of the cast again next season!

The movies I'm dying to see are Sisters, The Night Before, Love the Coopers and Intern.

Last night I started decorating for Christmas. I put up and decorated one of my 4 trees I'll be putting up this year! I got them all on clearance over the last few years and they are the little 5 ft trees. I'm putting one in all of our bedrooms and I'm excited. Since we are going to be hosting a party this year I'm going to be going a little over the top with my décor!

Hope you have an awesome hump day!

Weekend in Review

Good Morning! I hope everyone is well rested and in a great mood this morning! hahah yea right because all of us are on Monday morning! I had an awesome weekend and I hope you did too!
Friday. I read a blog post from Carolina Charm about a post she read about 200 Things to Throw Away and I loved it! I couldn't believe all the things I've been holding onto and for what? So Friday as I was packing for the weekend I was inspired to take out all of the nasty hangers from dry cleaners or stores I've bought clothes from and they give you the hanger. I think it looks better and I know these hangers wont snag my clothes. Luckily had enough hangers that I didn't have to go out and buy more. Now I want to go through every closets and organize and purge things I don't need!
After packing Moose and I picked Eric up from work and off we went to Detroit! My amazing Dad got us 4 tickets to the Red Wings hockey game, a parking pass and a ticket into the Olympia Room which is a bar under the ice! We dropped Moose off at our friends house so he could play with their dog while we were gone and off we went to the D! I'm from the Detroit area so I'm always happy to make the three hour drive over there! We parked the car in a lot that was literally across the street from the Joe and up the large stairs we went! I used to go to Red Wings games all the time with my Dad. Back in the 90's they were amazing! We grabbed some food and some beers and headed to our seats. The seats were amazing, we were right behind the visitors bench. I was shocked how fast the game flew by! Theres three 20 minute periods and two 20 minute intermissions but it felt like we were in and out! We had a ton of fun and I'm glad that Eric got to experience his first Red Wings game with me and the Gildea's!
Saturday. We headed to Lansing for Opening Day weekend! Usually Eric's step mom Amanda and his two little sisters and I go on a huge shopping binge for Christmas but the girls had other commitments so Amanda and I just went. We were more leisurely shopping than serious shopping like we half in years past. I got new boots, some new jewelry, wine bottle costumes for our ugly Christmas party and a gift for Amanda. We had a ton of fun and we didn't over do it. Usually I'm tired afterwards and have to sleep for 3 days!
Amanda was hosting a jewelry party that night so we were saving our energy for that. It was fun. I ended up buying a bracelet and booking a party. The boys were outside roasting chestnuts over and open fire.
Sunday. We had a lazy day. We ended up having a little Thanksgiving at Eric's Dad's house because they won't be available on Thanksgiving. Second weekend in a row I've had Thanksgiving meal and I don't hate it! Now I definitely feel better about starting to bring up my Christmas stuff because I have 2 Thanksgivings done and 1 more to go! Eric snatched Baby Kenley from me for a minute so I had to snap a picture! What a cutie....Kenley not Eric....gosh I hate that bright orange hat but he loves it!!

When we got home Eric snuggled with Moose a bit while I purged more things from the list. I threw out old makeup, beauty and hair products I've bought but never used, old fabric and I think i'll make into something, Eric made a fire and I had him throw in a bunch of old magazines. I was a purging fool on Sunday. Eric managed to take out a few things to save but the majority of it went into the recycling and trash cans!
I also got Moose a little treat! I have seen dog sweaters and costumes but I never buy them. This one I couldn't pass up! He doesn't totally hate it, I just think he looks so darn cute in it!

Well loves I hope you had a great weekend and I hope this week is even better!

Weekend Review

Good Morning! I had a fabulous weekend!
Friday. Moose and I anxiously awaited Eric’s arrival. He had been gone for a week in Wyoming to hunt with a group of guys and we missed him. He got home at 2AM so it was a long night.
Moose could hardly stand the excitement of his Dad coming home so he decided to take a little nap on his pillow!
Of course we had to hear all about the trip. He got a buck so he was extremely excited! He hasn’t shot a deer since we have been married…3 years! We had tons of meat and against my wishes we have a European deer head mount. We already have 2 of his past deer’s mounted and someone else just gave us another one…I didn't need a 4th! I told him to bring the antlers home but he decided he wanted the skull with it…I’m not a fan and it will not be in my house….that’s a basement/man cave item only! But I’m excited he is home!
Saturday. I hit up some stores and did some major damage! I got a few more presents so I only have 2 more of my 21 people to buy for! I also bought a few outdoor Christmas decorations. I’m looking to put wreathes on all of my windows with bows similar to whoever's house this is!
We are hosting an ugly Christmas sweater party so I’m going big with my decorations this year. Not one thing will be left in the tub! Last year I purchased a large wreathe for our fireplace but I thought it needed more. The big wreathe took up the whole back seat of my car!
After I went shopping I came home and did chores. Eric had a ton of laundry and a ton of organizing after his trip. After that we were home bodies and relaxed the rest of the day.
Yes they are matching! Eric's pants and Moose's collar! And yes they fall asleep like this!
Sunday. We had Thanksgiving at Eric's Grandparent’s house. They leave for Florida soon so we have Thanksgiving early since it’s always at their house. This year his Grandma taught us how to make her famous pie crust. She makes any kind of pie you want! She had pecan, banana crème, chocolate and pumpkin on Sunday. She also makes a mean apple pie! She makes everything from scratch and everything always tastes sooooo good! We have a recipe book with all of her recipes in it but there’s nothing like watching the way she does things to get them just right!  Three of my niece and nephews birthdays are within a month of each other so we decided to give them their presents at Thanksgiving. I have decided that it’s not about how much you spend on them but if it’s something you know they will like. The kids played with my gifts all afternoon and it filled my heart with joy….it also reaffirmed that I’m an awesome Aunt! J

Also a little while ago I made a quilt for my niece/goddaughter but I never got the chance to write something to put in it. I sewed it on this weekend and I think it looks perfect!
When we got home I saw a rose bloomed on one of our rose bushes in NOVEMBER! I picked it and put it in some water. This Michigan weather is crazy!
We had an awesome family filled weekend and I can’t wait for the holidays. I’m sad that we don’t get to spend as much time with our families as we should because we are so far away from each other, but we have an amazing time when we are together!

P.S. Since we’ve already had a thanksgiving I feel it's ok to start decorating for Christmas. Also we are hosting a party in December so I need to get everything out and up so I know if I need to go out and get anything else. J
Linking up with Biana & Meghan this lovely Monday.
